Daniel created Feather Creek to give children gentle picture books about choices and consequences, kindness and courage, and the small treasures that help us remember what matters most.

Daniel was born in Missouri but grew up in Pleasant View, Tennessee — and that is where his story truly begins. Pleasant View is his hometown in every sense of the word. He graduated from Cheatham County high school and carried that small town with him long after he moved on.
The idea for these books began nearly fourteen years ago, inspired by his son Jack. But Jack, in the way that only Jack can, declined to be a character in anyone's story — and Daniel respected that completely, setting the whole project aside for over a decade.
That moment arrived again in the form of a thirteen-month-old boy and a chicken who follows him everywhere. His grandson Ollie has a chicken who walks beside him like he already knows the boy is someone worth following. Daniel picked the idea back up — and this time, he finished it. Twenty books later, he had built a world.
Daniel is a proud advocate for the autism community and believes every child deserves to be seen, included, and celebrated exactly as they are. He is a grandfather, a father, a brother, and a man who has spent a lifetime showing up — for his family, his community, and now for the children who will one day hold these books in their hands.
